HEY YOU!

DEDICATION
Do you need to heal? Contemplate a major change? Find a new direction in creative work? Open your mind to your heart in some nurturing way? Every animal has a lesson to teach and at Magic Pond there is the sublime texture of natural wholeness in which to learn. Sensing the invisible ones watching and taking wisdom from those who consent to be seen is a joyous education. Guests frequently report the onset of vivid dreaming in this place and an uncanny sense of "all-knowing" while in the comforting embrace of the sanctuary.

It is a 75-acre paradise flanked by Mars Hill Mountain to the East, a spring-fed pond to the South, a protected lake to the West and the ever-present possibility of aurora borealis to the North. Here is the perfect feng shui arrangement for the unhindered flow and circulation of chi. Along miles of gently sloped trails, you'll find a pristine melding of retired organic fields, primordial bog, new growth pines, gurgling brooks and old growth forests: every habitat indigenous to Maine in which almost every creature indigenous to Maine lives.

Magic Pond Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the few remaining places on earth
where it is still possible to walk in equality with coyotes, fisher cats, beavers,
moose, otters, blue herons, red foxes, porcupines, bears, lynx and eagles.
Have you ever laughed aloud with the crow? Heard moose hooves rumble? Placed your palm in a bear print?

Make no mistake: this is no-nonsense Maine, north of typical.
By car, there are two hours of wilderness between the last city (Bangor) and the Magic Pond region. No one just stumbles on this place-- it is not on the way to anywhere. So, if you are still reading and wondering if it's for you, chances are that it is! Folks who stay here say they had an inkling about it and (as ecopsychologists now very well understand) a feeling of being drawn closer to the northern wilderness by the earth, herself, speaking an ancient intuitive language. (Some also say they were just sick of civilization and needed to sleep to the tune of frogs piping and breathe pure, clean air for a change!)
