Both are furnished and include central heat, local television, dvd player, local telephone (for your dial-up connection to an 800 or local number up to 1/2 hour per day with free wireless broadband at the Presque Isle library), a fully equipped kitchen, private bath (3/4 bath in main cottage and full bath in studio cottage), living and dining areas, bedroom (double bed in main cottage, queen in studio cottage) and a futon sofa that opens for extra sleeping space. Laundry facilities are included for guests staying two weeks or longer. A second story deck (studio cottage) and wrap-around porch (main cottage) both overlook the pond.
With a grocery store just five minutes away in Mars Hill, the fully equipped kitchen in each suite makes vacationing at Magic Pond very economical. In addition, there is a movie rental store, bank, pharmacy, bakery, diner, post office, gas station, hairdresser, car mechanic and a SubWay within five minutes of the sanctuary. Within twenty minutes is the town of Presque Isle with a regional hospital, Aroostook County Mall, a Super Wal-Mart and the University of Maine library and gym.
But don't let the conveniences fool you. From the top of Mars Hill Mountain, the truth is awesomely evident: you're in the middle of the great Maine wilderness and the sanctuary's seclusion from the world is sublime.
